Worked hard all day, played hard at night. Portland. |
Over the past four years I have been fortunate to work with
Kaiser Permanente as a “Care Actor”.
Kaiser has had a theater department for thirty years now, and, the Care
Actors are a part of ongoing education for the doctors and medical
practitioners. Typically, we interact
with the medical staff in role plays, empathy exercises, either one on one, or,
in group facilitated situations. We also stage performances designed to
illustrate the options available for building better relations between the
patient and hospital staff, that, along with creating healthier communication
between colleagues. Working for Kaiser
in this capacity has been an amazing adventure, and, last week I was invited to
attend a conference in Portland.
Wow. What a fun and energetic
group of individuals…
